As a professional artist, I analyze environmental elements of space, light, form and color.  I visually interpret these elements and create  modern paintings that make an original statement.

"Maldonado creates Post-Cubist paintings..... Her work has a similar sensibility to the paintings of another gifted Latina artist, Amelia Pelaez, who painted in mid-1940's Cuba.  Like Pelaez, Maldonado's pictorial primary focus is on the design quality of the arabesque."  Isabel Nazario, Executive Director, Office of Intercultural Initiatives, Rutgers University.  In 2001 Maldonado was selected by Rutgers University Mason Gross School of Fine Art as one of Their Forty Influential Latin American Artists.

"Beautiful work, Mariana, muy hermoso. I like your division of space and color use, very balanced and serene but with energy and tension. And the creative variety of styles is really very stunning. Salute! I like very much!"
Earl Bateman, Chief Operating Officer, Art4love, Inc.
